DONT GIVE UP THE HOPE OF YOUR PARENTHOOD

Altruistic Surrogacy

Surrogacy is an arrangement supported by legal documentation whereby a woman agrees to bear a child for another couple who will eventually become the child’s parents after birth. In India, commercial surrogacy is prohibited but altruistic surrogacy where the surrogate does not receive any monetary compensation is allowed.

Surrogacy involves the implantation of an embryo created using either:

  • The eggs and sperm of the intended parents
  • A donated egg fertilized with sperm from the intended father
  • An intended mother's egg fertilized with donor sperm

Eligibility criteria for surrogate mother:

  • Age between 21 – 35 years
  • An ever married, healthy woman
  • Should be having at least one child of her own
  • Surrogacy is allowed only one time in her lifetime

At Santasa fertility center, Surrogacy is suggested for couples with the following conditions:

  • Congenital absence of the uterus
  • Repeated failure of in vitro fertilisation treatment
  • Recurrent abortion
  • After a hysterectomy
  • Serious health concerns in the woman which are incompatible with pregnancy
